PAULA CONE, PROJECT COORDINATOR
With over nine years of project management experience, in New Zealand, Brazil and the Cayman Islands, Paula’s knowledge of processes and procedures has been a huge asset to our growing business— improving and standardising our internal workflows to gain efficiency and increase client satisfaction. Driven by a desire to ensure that every aspect of every project is completed to the highest standard, one of Paula’s biggest sources of satisfaction is working on projects with repeat clients. On her days off, you might find her listening to live music or doing Pilates (but probably not both at the same time).
JILL JAMES, LOGISTICS MANAGER
Jill’s background in operations, accounting and human resources keeps the Lydia Uzzell Interior Design office ticking like clockwork. Cool, calm and collected with an eye for detail she knows how to get things done on-island, managing our little black book of architects, contractors and suppliers. Having been involved in nearly every single Lydia Uzzell Interior Design project, she doesn’t like to play favourites but thinks that each design project is special in its own way—she describes working on clients’ homes as similar to the countdown to Christmas Day, except that at the end of it all, sadly you don’t get to keep anything.
MELISSA JENKINSON, SENIOR DESIGNER
Born and raised in the Cayman Islands, Melissa’s studies took her to both New York and London where she worked for industry leaders Vincente Wolf and Cloud Studios. More recently her laid back style and love of nature brought her back to Cayman, where she has made herself at home at Lydia Uzzell Interior Design. Melissa’s extensive experience in working with high-profile and high-end residential interiors, and her impeccable eye for interior design, is an asset to our busy firm. She loves scouring flea markets and antique stores both locally and abroad, and draws on this fascination with the eclectic to deliver a unique perspective to each design project.
DIANE EDEN, DESIGNER
Diane’s Caymanian roots and impeccable style transcend into every design project, which always ooze island vibes with a modern twist. With over 10 years of industry experience, she has carved out her specialty in window treatments—one of the hardest areas of the home to get right. Diane recently worked on one of Lydia Uzzell Interior Design’s largest pro-bono projects to date; Jasmine Villa, a 6,000 square-foot purpose-built care facility for the islands’ only hospice and loved experiencing first-hand the positive impact that her designs had on both patients’ and caregivers’ lives. Outside of the studio, Diane enjoys spending time at the beach and traveling with her husband and kids.
REBECCA MILNE, DESIGNER
Rebecca’s formal design training and previous experience in the world of advertising led her to Lydia Uzzell Interior Design, where she jumped right into some of the firm’s largest projects yet including managing sister brand HÜIS Cayman. As the lead on all things HÜIS, Rebecca has fully embraced her passion for interior design, overseeing both HÜIS’ growing roster of design projects and marketing strategy. She also channels her love of vintage, shopping and travel to source unique and original furniture and homewares for HÜIS’ brick and mortar, The Storefront.
DEBORAH BAILDAM, STORE MANAGER
Deborah is the manager of the HÜIS Cayman store and warehouse in George Town. Moving to Cayman in 2016, she previously worked for Holly Hunt where she assisted in the set-up of their UK showroom. Now running The Storefront, her cozy and homey design style reflects her warm and welcoming approach to every single person who walks through the door. When she’s not on the shop floor or sourcing a custom order for a customer, find Deborah scuba diving or crushing a CrossFit WOD.
